Many of those who travel and need mobility assistance assume that their only option is a wheelchair rental.  Why?  Wheelchairs are available to rent from a multitude of sources from pharmacies to medical supply shops as well as provided at no charge at airports and the like.  Also, and a big ALSO, a wheelchair will fold up and fit into a car and can be used most anywhere now with the advent of handicap accessibility laws (at least in the USA).  Also wheelchair rental is assumed to be more affordable than an electronic convenience vehicle (ECV) also known as a mobility scooter.  But many of these reasons have now changed.

Most every major city and vacation destination now has companies that provide mobility scooters for rent that easily fit into a car trunk and are affordable.  A wheelchair rental averages $18-20 per day while there are mobility scooter rental companies that offer rental rates starting as low as $25 a day.  So for a 7 day vacation you can spend as little as $35 more and rent a mobility scooter versus a wheelchair rental and the best part of all is a scooter comes with a basket to hold incidentals and no one has to push, giving the rider the freedom they deserve to truly enjoy their vacation.
